Suggested Salary Changes

Use this window to process salary changes for employees who have entries in the Next Change Date and Type of Change fields on the Terms tab of the employment history record.

It is envisaged that the Next Change Date field will be used to signify those employees for whom a pay rise was not granted due to the presence of a bar date against the employee and that now the bar date has been passed the employee should be given any pay rise previously withheld.

The window shows a list of employees who have next change dates up to the date entered at the top-left-hand-side of the window and Type of Change not Actioned or blank.

Date

The employee records with a planned date change up to today’s date are displayed. You can change the date to display employee records for an alternative planned date change. Enter a date and click Review.

Review

Click Review to retrieve employee records up to the date you enter in Date.

Edit

Highlight one of the employee records and then click Edit. The employment history record that triggered this entry is displayed for amendment. You can change any field in the employment history record for the employee. For example, you can delete the planned date if you do not want to apply a salary change for the selected employee, or you can change the planned date if you want to defer making a salary change for the employee.

Action

Highlight one of the employee records and then click Action. The Apply Grade Changes wizard is displayed. The initial pages of the apply salary process are skipped because the values are defaulted in — that is, apply to one employee only, the employee number to apply the change to, and whether an increment is to be applied. Click Back to view the page in which the defaults are entered. You can then continue to enter the details needed to define the employee’s new salary. By default, the Next Change Date and Type of Change fields on the Terms tab in the employment history record that triggered this change are then cleared, but if any entry exists in the ‘Revised Date Diary Rule’ fields in the Employment tab of the HR record, then a new Change date is entered based on the original date and the value held in the diary rule. When the salary has been applied, the employee no longer appears in the list.

Highlight if top of scale

Select this check box to display in blue the details of those employees who are at the top of their scale. The other employees (not at the top of their scale) are displayed in black.
