Create Empty Staff Contracts

Use this wizard to create empty staff contract records.

During the preparation of the data for a new submission year, empty staff contract records must be created. This ensures there is at least one contract in the database for each member of staff and saves you having to type each contract record into the system. When the contract records exist, you can use the data import and data flood tools to transfer data into them from external files or the personnel database.

Browser Template

Select the browser template that contains a list of the employees for which contracts will be created, along with their contract identifiers. This browser should include a record for every employee to be included and their contract numbers. Click  to select a browser from a list of the browsers available.

Click Next. The next page of the wizard is displayed.

Employee Reference

Select, from the drop-down list, the field on the browser that is the employee reference.

Click Next. The next page of the wizard is displayed.

Contract Identifier

Select, from the drop-down list, the field on the browser that corresponds to the contract identifier.

Click Finish. The new contract records are created. Note that only empty records with the contract identifiers are created and no data is transferred.

The creation produces new records only when a contract does not already exist. Therefore, details that have been entered or transferred into a contract record are not lost or overwritten.
